The South Ulster Youth Band is an energetic group of young musicians, whose
talent and enthusiasm ensure a treat for all who hear them. The Band, founded
by the Southern Education and Library Board, is based in Portadown, County
Armagh, and rehearses on Saturday mornings.
These young musicians are noted for their wide musical repertoire.
encompassing everything from classical repertoire and sacred music to film
themes, pop hits, show Songs and Big Band Blues! They have performed in some
of the most prestigious venues across Ireland. whilst their proven formula
captures the enthusiasm of players and audience alike and ensures that tickets
for their annual Programme of concerts are in big demand.
Touring has always been an important Part of the musical experience provided
by the S.E.L.B. Previous destinations for concert tours include The Lake District,
England, Vienna, Scotland, Switzerland, Paris, Georgia, USA and Lake Garda, Italy.
